Hello Kim, it is known that you are the first recipient of the Michael Kors scholarship for excellent fashion students at FIT. Can Kim share this story again?
My school has a scholarship for freshmen to study abroad in Florence. I have never been to Europe or lived alone anywhere other than Texas, so I think this is an opportunity to explore the world.
At that time, I really didn’t think I would be chosen, because this design was completely different from Michael’s classic, sporty American style.

Obviously that 2D design is not something to wear in everyday life, but I really want to experiment with new ideas.
Kim’s plans after graduation?
I will graduate in May 2016, this scholarship also includes a place to study for 1 year in Milan, where I will present my graduation project.
I don’t think it’s difficult to be a designer in New York, as long as you stay true to yourself.
So what about Kim’s own fashion style?
I usually wear black.
